KAO brands
Kao Brands, the maker of Ban antiperspirants and deodorants, Jergens and Curél hand and body lotions, Bioré facial care, and John Frieda hair care products, is making a $7.9 million investment in its facilities in Camp Washington. Kao Brands already has 449 employees who work in the company's manufacturing, research and development, and corporate functions. They are also moving 30 marketing positions from Stamford, Connecticut to Cincinnati to bring synergy to a diverse and innovative global marketing team of over 85 people.
To offset some of the costs of that investment and attract the new jobs to Cincinnati, the City and the State assisted Kao Brands with a Job Creation Tax Credit (JCTC). Over the term of the agreement, the net return to the City is anticipated to be just under $16 million. We are thrilled that Kao Brands is making this investment and that they will serve as an anchor for redevelopment in Camp Washington.
